Bingo is proud and happy, too! When this photo was snapped he was enjoying his first full hunting season. Bee Bee Bouncin' Bingo was 19 months old when this hunt took place. He came to the Boatmans at 10 weeks of age. He now weighs 53 lbs. and is a bundle of muscle. A grandson of the renowned Elhew Snakefoot, Bingo has a bird-finding nose, runs with style and is a tireless hunter. Bill prefers a close working dog, yet one who hunts the most likely cover. This requires lots of experience. Bingo first started with the tendency to range wide. Bill uses a Radio Systems SD 1850 Remote Trainer with Beeper (our no. 749) and the SD Add-A-Dog with Beeper (our no. 751) for Meg to manage the range and the dogs have responded. It took several trips to the training field plus hunting to rein them in! |

On the left is Rod, an old, experienced English Setter held by Bill. He was exercised with a No. 758 Orange Check Rope using a "half hitch". Carolyn walked Bingo with a No. 747 Roading Harness and a no. 790 Yellow 3/8" Check Rope. The photo shows some of the Milo growing at the edge of their training field. |

Duker |

At the right is English Pointer, Duker, at 13 years old. He was sired by Ch. Elhew Snakefoot of the renowned Elhew Kennels in upstate New York. The owner/breeder of Elhew, Robert Wehle, also owned a plantation in Alabama where he wintered, trained dogs and hunted. Duker was bred by Norm Rieso of IL (618-539-3598), a friend of Wehle's, and came to us when he was 6 years old. Norm still breeds a few litters each year; carrying on the Elhew bloodlines. Duker enjoyed the remainder of his life running loose at our home. Most days, he made numerous 1/4 mile trips to our "bird field." Sadly, Duker passed away in 2007. He was a great dog to have around and is missed by all. |
